San Francisco, List Starting Post (Exploring San Francisco)
Its Thing:
San Francisco is a micro-city packed onto the tip of the peninsula. Within this micro-city are a number of additional micro-cities. One block will take you from China to Italy. A couple miles and you just went from the preppy Marina to the hipster Mission community. I have never experienced a city that is more segregated its distinct cultures geographically than San Francisco.
San Francisco is a daytime city. When I first moved from NYC, this was difficult to adapt to. I would go out at night and leave confused as to where everyone was. That was until I discovered that everyone is at the bars, the parks, the beaches all day. Drinking, partying, all this happened during the day. Then people go to bed early and get up and run marathons at 7am.
Don’t Miss: San Francisco is gorgeous. The views, in the city, the water, and the bridges that surround it make it the prettiest city that I have ever experienced.
